It was a long time in the making but finally this week the stonework arrived for the garden, and we were able to hold the final workday to get everything ready for the grand opening.
The statue and benches arrived on the 3rd October, and we were amazed at how quickly the workmen got everything into position on top of our homemade concrete bases. The statue looked amazing, but was quickly wrapped up under canvas as a top secret surprise for the opening!
The following weekend we held our final workday, and it was all hands on deck to get the garden looking neat and tidy - especially since Swindon's major has kindly agreed to officially open the garden for us. We spend a busy day getting all the chip pings into place, planting some winter pansies in the beds, and of course building the patio around the base of the statue.
Thanks to everyone for all their hard work - the garden is going to look amazing!
