Saturday 22nd January was a very important day for our very own Swindon Sands Memorial Garden. Around 20 Swindon Sands members and their family and friends turned up, kitted out in the very best wellies and armed with spades and forks for the start of what is sure to be a very exciting project for us. Although it was a slightly damp and drizzy day the very first Escallonia hedging plant went in around 11 o'clock and thanks to the hard work and determination of all those involved the next 99 all followed very quickly.

Including a few drink and cake stops we were all done by 1pm! The outline has all been planted and the central patio area and 2 inner borders have been marked out with the turf taken off ready for laying and planting in March. The site is really beginning to take shape now and in the next few months the hard work will really begin. We very much hope that if everything goes according to plan it should be officially open in October to coincide with National Baby Loss Awareness week.

Many thanks to everyone for all their efforts today, helping to make sure this will be a perfect space to remember our beloved babies.
