The theme for the night was Spring, and while the weather outside was distinctly Wintery, inside the group had done a fabulous job of decorating the room with spring flowers and leafy greens. A delicious three-course meal was followed by an evening of music and dancing into the wee hours (with fun props, feather boas and hats courtesy of the band!).
There was also time to reflect on why we were all there, and watch a short video about the history of the group, including thanks for us all at Swindon Sands for all our support and help. Through ticket sales, donations, a silent auction, and a wonderful balloon raffle Bath Sands managed to raise over four and a half thousand pounds – enough that they can start planning for their own memorial garden.
It was a great evening, and thank you to everyone at Bath Sands for the invitation. It was wonderful to see how established the group has become, and to be able to share in their special evening.
